How Clarity Will Change Your Life (Even If You Feel Lost Right Now)

For the man who’s successful on paper but stuck in his head.

There have been seasons in my life where I felt completely lost.

I was grinding 12-hour days, saying yes to everything, and sacrificing sleep, fun, and freedom because I thought that’s what success required.

I believed the burnout was a badge of honour.

That the hustle was proof I wanted it bad enough.

But even with all that effort I didn’t feel like I was getting anywhere.

It was frustrating. Demotivating.

I was doing so much, but I didn’t know where it was all leading.

I felt like I was sprinting on a treadmill moving fast, burning energy, but getting nowhere. And I couldn’t hit stop because everyone around me kept saying, ‘Keep going, this is what success looks like.

Just chasing growth and money… but with no direction to aim it.

And when you don’t have a clear direction?

You become like a weed growing fast but in the wrong places. And eventually, you get pulled.

The moment everything changed

The turning point came when I moved to Nashville.

I didn’t realise how much noise I had in my life until it was gone.

No more “coffee meetings” where people wanted advice but weren’t ready to commit.

No more routine that left me exhausted by 3pm.

No more needing to be everywhere, proving myself, just to feel seen.

For the first time in a long time, I had space.

Time to think.

Time to ask:

“What do I actually want not just for my business, but for my life?”

And that question changed everything.

The truth I had to face

I realised how much I’d been building a life around work not around what really mattered to me.

I had always trained, but it was something I squeezed in between client calls.

I wanted to write a book. I wanted to travel. I wanted to enjoy more time with my wife.

But somehow those things always came after the business.

And here’s the thing: I had already created the freedom I used to dream about.

I just wasn’t using it.

I didn’t want to look back at 50 and realise I spent my best years chasing the next milestone instead of living the life I actually wanted.

So I stopped.

I took a breath.

And I started over.

Clarity isn’t a mindset shift. It’s a decision-making filter.

Once I got clear on what I wanted, I worked backwards.

  • I calculated how much I needed to earn to live well

  • I defined what showing up powerfully in my marriage looked like

  • I mapped where I wanted to travel and started locally

  • I built my business around what I love, not what looks impressive

Then I blocked time.

And I said no to anything that didn’t move me toward that life.

I reviewed my weeks. Refined my actions. Reclaimed my energy.

That’s when clarity became a practice, not just an idea.

I battled FOMO hard.

I thought focus meant I was missing out.

That saying no meant shutting down opportunities.

That being selective meant I was playing small.

I used to see clarity as a scarce mindset like it would limit me.

But the truth is:

Clarity is an abundant mindset.

It helps you move with purpose instead of panic.

I also feared getting it wrong.

What if I committed to something and it wasn’t right?

But I realised something powerful:

Feedback is more important than failure.

When you move intentionally, even the missteps give you data.

You can pivot with confidence, not chaos.

What clarity gave me

✅ A calmer mind

✅ Faster decision-making

✅ A compass I could actually follow

Now, every decision is simple:

Does this move me closer to the life I want or further away?

Financially, I no longer chase what looks good. I stick to what supports my vision.

Emotionally, I’m more grounded.

Energetically, I’m more alive.

Because I’m finally living in alignment with the man I want to be.

Not the one I thought I had to be.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to be clear on what matters to you right now and take one step in that direction.

Want to start gaining clarity today?

Here’s a simple 4-step filter I use to realign and it will help you too.

1. What do I truly want right now?

Not long-term, not “someday” what would make life feel more aligned this month?

2. What’s one area of my life that feels out of alignment?

Work, health, marriage, time, energy?

3. What am I doing that’s pulling me away from the life I want?

Busywork, people-pleasing, overcommitting, chasing money?

4. What’s one bold change I can make this week to move closer to my vision?

Block time. Say no. Book the trip. Call the coach.

Clarity doesn’t come from thinking.

It comes from acting on what matters.

You don’t need to do more.

You just need to get clear.
